Fall Sunrise at Willey Pond

Peak foliage arrived in the White Mountains of New Hampshire very early in 2025, courtesy of the severe drought impacting much of New England. The drought meant that the leaves turned earlier and quicker. I took a quick overnight trip and woke up at 5am for sunrise at Willey Pond in Crawford Notch. I was hoping the cool nights and clear skies would mean a great reflection on the pond and I lucked out with a calm morning and a few clouds scudding by behind Mount Willey. Shortly after I took this photo a flock of ducks crash landed into the pond and my calm morning reflection was over.
