Misty Martha's Mile Trail

I shot this photo while hiking the Martha’s Mile trail between the summits of Owl’s Head and Mount Martha in the northern White Mountain National Forest. Not to be confused with the Owl’s Head in the Pemigewasset Wilderness, this Owl’s Head supposedly has a great view of the northern Presidential Range and I was hoping to photograph the fall foliage in the valleys below the peaks. However, it was raining and I spent the entire hike surrounded by the clouds and mist. As a friend of mine likes to say, any hiking trip is a 100% chance of a long walk in the woods! The hike was challenging and fun and the woods were beautiful with the rain soaked underbrush and trees shrouded in mist.
