In January of 2025 I went out for one of the coldest and snowiest hikes I’ve ever done: Mounts Tom, Field, and Avalon in Crawford Notch, NH. The mountains were in the clouds all day and the trees and trails were choked with feet of fluffy snow. In this shot you can barely see Route 302 snaking through Crawford Notch behind the trees at the summit of Mount Avalon.
