Stormy Sunset at Kirkjufellsfoss

I almost didn’t get to take this photograph of a blue hour storm gathering behind Kirkjufell. My brother and I had been exploring Iceland out of a camper van for a week and had been planning this sunset at Kirkjufellsfoss for the end of our day exploring the Snæfellsnes peninsula. We stopped for dinner and fell into a vortex controlled by two restaurants whose waitstaff was determined to ignore us. After not being brought to a table in a sea of empty tables for fifteen minutes at one restaurant we then lost almost half an hour waiting for the check at the restaurant across the street. After escaping, we high tailed it to the waterfall just in time to watch these storm clouds roil across the sky behind the mountain.
