Weeks of below freezing temperatures during January of 2026 froze Cape Cod Bay solid from Wellfleet to Sandy Neck. I spent this sunset exploring the ice at Skaket Beach in Orleans. There were sections of giant ice blocks that had been pushed up on top of each other by the tide. I loved how the brilliant pink light during this brief part of the sunset illuminated the rim of the iceberg.
