The Narrows in Zion National Park

I took my first trip to Zion National Park during a very cold week in October of 2017. My brother and I camped out at the park for the first part of the week and did as many of the famous hikes as we could. By far the wildest experience I had was our hike up the Narrows. Hiking up the river in the slot canyon with the walls towering hundreds of feet above us was as unique an experience as I’ve had in the outdoors.
As we got close to our turnaround point, we came to this sharp bend in the canyon where the sunlight filtering down from the sky way above us was lighting up this pocket of rock in the canyon. It was tricky to hold my tripod still in the rushing river long enough to get this shot but after a few tries it worked out.
