This landscape photograph captures a sweeping view of New Hampshire's White Mountains during peak fall foliage season, with layers of mountains extending from foreground to background creating a stunning display of autumn colors. The closest slopes are covered in a patchwork of golden yellows, vibrant reds, and oranges, punctuated by dark green evergreens, while the distant Presidential Range rises in misty blue-purple hues against a pastel sky touched with pink and lavender clouds. The composition draws the eye naturally from the detailed autumn foliage in the foreground through successive mountain ridges to the highest peaks, emphasizing both the grand scale of the landscape and the rich diversity of New England's fall colors.

I’ve hiked all over the White Mountains throughout my life but on this cool fall evening I explored a brand new trail and peak that I’ve been looking at for years without knowing there was a trail to the summit. This spot is at the end of a Forest Service road with no established trailhead - just a path leading off into the woods. I was rewarded for my exploration with a beautiful sunset over the many layers of colorful New England fall foliage.
