This may be one of the highest effort-to-reward photos I’ve ever taken. This dinghy floats in a basin of Nantucket Harbor every year and I finally put the combination of ferry schedules, weather, and tides together to grab some photos at dusk. The decorated and illuminated tree on the dock in the background was a nice bonus! All told, this one photo took two one-hour high speed ferry rides across the almost 30 miles of Nantucket Sound to capture. For some reason that feels like more effort than any of the sunrise or sunset hikes up and down mountains that I typically do for photos.
