Spring Snow on Mount Garfield Black and White

This is a black and white treatment of Spring Snow on Mount Garfield.

New Hampshire was blanketed in a foot of fluffy snow by an early spring snowstorm. I took this photo of Mount Garfield from one of my favorite viewpoints in the White Mountains. The contrast between the bright sun on the summit of Mt Garfield and the shade and darkness on the foothills was eye catching.

A panorama photo of the summits of Mount Lincoln, Cannon Mountain, and Little Haystack in Franconia Notch in the White Mountains of New Hampshire
A snow-covered Mount Garfield rises prominently against a cloudy sky, its bright white summit contrasting with the darker blue-toned forested ridges in the foreground, captured in the soft light of early spring in New Hampshire's White Mountains.
A panoramic winter sunrise photograph taken from a snow-covered rocky summit, looking across Franconia Notch with snow-dusted evergreen trees in the foreground, rocky outcroppings at center, and the illuminated peaks of Cannon Mountain, Little Haystack Mountain, and Mount Lincoln bathed in warm golden-pink sunrise light against a pale blue sky with wispy clouds.
The image shows a winter mountain landscape at sunset or sunrise, with snow-covered evergreen trees in the foreground and mountains in the background. The peaks are illuminated with warm orange-pink alpenglow on their upper slopes, contrasting with shadowed, darker lower slopes. Snow blankets the evergreen branches in the foreground, creating a detailed texture of white against the dark green needles. The sky is a clear, deep blue, and there are landslide paths visible as vertical white lines down the mountainside. The image captures the dramatic interplay of light and shadow typical of winter mountain photography.
