Block Island North Lighthouse Sunset

In 2017 I took the ferry out to Block Island to start an effort to photograph all 21 Rhode Island lighthouses in 24 hours. We wanted to get an early start the next morning so we spent the night on the island and visited this viewpoint of North Lighthouse for sunset. I used a telephoto lens to zoom in on the lighthouse and compress the distance across Block Island Sound to the Rhode Island shoreline in the background. The sunset was a beautiful soft pink glow which made a great contrast to the deep blue water surrounding the lighthouse.
