Fiery Summer Sunset in Chatham
This photo was taken a few minutes after the technical sunset and is a great example of why I never leave a spot until the light is completely gone. The early part of sunset from golden hour until the sun touched the horizon was warm and beautiful as the sky glowed pink and orange from the horizon. The second part of sunset as the sun sank below the horizon until about 15 minutes after was stunning as the light lit up the high altitude clouds in a brilliant pink display that stretched from horizon to horizon. I left the beach roses I had planned to photograph and walked down to the shoreline and the waves gently crashing on the sand.
