Hvalnes Beach Sunset

The Hvalnes peninsula was one of my favorite stops when I visited Iceland in September of 2022. There’s a weathered yellow lighthouse and a black sand beach that stretches to the west for a few kilometers. The beach was the perfect place to stop and watch the sunset as storm clouds drifted over the sharp peak of Vestrahorn in the distance. I really like the way the orange light catches the peaks of the breaking waves.
