Snowy Cannonballs at Sunset
This is the way winter is supposed to look! In January of 2021 I photographed sunset alpenglow over the peaks of Franconia Notch in the White Mountains. It had only snowed about eight inches since the big rain on Christmas Day but all that snow seems to be stuck on the trees in the mountains. There are some winters where we get a ton of snow but it never sticks to the trees and it never looks as "wintery" to me so I really loved seeing this despite the low snow.
The rounded peaks in the middle of this shot are known as the Cannonballs and they sit in between North Kinsman and Cannon Mountain. There's a trail that runs from North Kinsman to Cannon that I would love to hike some day.
My personal favorite - the photograph is printed onto high-quality art canvas, coated with a protective acrylic finish, and stretched onto a 1.25” frame. Canvases include mounting hardware and are ready to hang in your home. I sign and title canvases on the back of the print.
I use 100% cotton acid- and lignin-free fine art paper with archival inks to produce a giclee print. These are museum quality prints that will last for decades without fading. The photograph is printed with a white border to allow for easy mounting and framing. I hand title and sign the border of each print in pencil.
The photograph is printed onto a specially coated sheet of aluminum using dye infusion. This brings out a stunning amount of color and clarity and is perfect for photos with lots of color and contrast. The final print includes a hanger which floats your print half an inch off the wall.
